Due to the fast growth of mobile phones, constantly checking email every few minutes, it has made it necessary to upgrade one of our longest running email servers for shared hosting services. This server houses about 5% of the hundreds of thousands of email accounts that our shared web hosting clients use.
This server’s disks will be migrated to a new server, with a faster CPU and more RAM at 6PM PST tomorrow. Downtime to email in this server is expected to be 15 minutes.
For the techie in you, emailserver1 will be running in one of our popular Colossus enterprise dedicated servers, with 16GBs of RAM, a Xeon Nehalem processor, and a 8 disk RAID10 array. That should be fast enough
