Intel Releases its Ivy Bridge Family of Processors

Intel has officially launched its latest generation of CPUs, codenamed Ivy Bridge, making the world’s first 22 nanometer processor cores featuring “tri-gate” 3D transistor technology available to the public. The quad-core versions of the new Ivy Bridge processors will be available for regular laptops and desktop PCs immediately, although the dual-core versions suitable for thinner Ultrabooks will be announced later this spring.

New Windows Server OS Gets an Official Name: It’s Now Windows Server 2012

At Microsoft Management Summit 2012, which took place in Las Vegas on April 17, Microsoft Corporate Vice President Brad Anderson announced that the latest iteration of their server operating system – previously dubbed Windows Server 8 – will officially be called Windows Server 2012. Windows Server 2012 is in the beta testing stage right now and is expected to reach customers this calendar year.
