Intel has officially launched its latest generation of CPUs, codenamed Ivy Bridge, making the world’s first 22 nanometer processor cores featuring “tri-gate” 3D transistor technology available to the public. The quad-core versions of the new Ivy Bridge processors will be available for regular laptops and desktop PCs immediately, although the dual-core versions suitable for thinner Ultrabooks will be announced later this spring.

Citrix Systems has announced that it is submitting its CloudStack platform to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), a well-respected name in the open source community. The submission will make CloudStack the first cloud platform in the industry to join the ASF.
