A new SAN, SAN #4, has been put into production after several weeks of testing.
All new virtual machines created in Cloud+, as of yesterday, are now being created in a new Cloud+ zone, called LAS1-2.
This stands for Las Vegas data center 1, zone 2.
This new zone has a new SAN, SAN #4, as well as a separate network infrastructure and new hypervisors. This makes it fully independent from the existing LAS1 zone.
We intend to eliminate LAS1 zone over time, as the new zone is a faster and more redundant architecture. Starting sometime in July, we will begin moving clients to the new zone.
Software programming involved in this zone separation is also related to our expansion to a new second data center in Ashburn, Virginia.
