Why ServerPoint?

For a few very simple reasons. We own our network, data center and servers. We don't outsource our operations or our staff. We are not resellers. Our experience in managing an efficient infrastructure for Windows goes back almost a decade.

Where are your servers located?

They are located in our own tier 1 data center in Las Vegas, NV, one of the few areas of the United States free of natural disasters. Scroll to the bottom of this page to see pictures of our facility.

Are you just resellers of another company?

Absolutely not! We are one of the few "true hosting" companies in the industry. This means that we have our own staff, we own our servers, network and infrastructure. There is no middle man.

What is the difference between standard VPS hosting and cloud based VPS hosting?

With our Windows Cloud+ service, you have more flexibility when creating your virtual machine, as you can specify any level of resources, such as RAM and CPU. With our standard Windows VPS hosting service, you have a specific set of plans to choose from. Because we can better determine the resources used by clients, standard VPS hosting service costs less.

Which versions of Windows are available?

64bit and 32bit version of Windows 2003 and 2008 (both Standard and Enterprise editions) are available, as well as the 64bit version of Windows XP and Windows 7. You can choose any at no additional cost.

What if I need more RAM or disk space?

You can upgrade to the next plan. Beyond the last plan, please contact our sales team.

Can I install Windows based applications?

Absolutely! You will be able to access your server via the Remote Desktop application in your local computer and be able to use the remote server's Windows desktop as if you were sitting in front of it. From there you can operate your server just like any other Windows computer and install anything you want, as you will have full Administrator level access.

Can I have more than one virtual machine?

Yes you may. You can order additional virtual machines from inside ServerPoint.com's Client Portal.

Can you provide Microsoft Office, SQL and/or Visio?

All are available for an additional monthly fee.

Is Plesk, Enkompass or WebSitePanel available?

All are available for an additional monthly fee.

Can I use it as a VPN server?

Yes you may use your Windows VPS as a VPN server.

Are these servers managed or unmanaged?

The pricing published in our web site is unmanaged, which means that it is up to you to manage your Windows server. If you wish us to manage it, we do have server management plans available.

Is your tecnical support 24/7?

We are available every day, day and night, even during major holidays.

Is RAM shared or dedicated?

We do not oversell our services. The RAM and disk space that you order is fully available to you and it is not shared with other virtual servers in the same node/hypervisor.

Do you provide backup services?

Yes. Our system will back up your entire virtual machine every day, each backup replacing the one from the previous day. Be aware that these backups are for disaster recovery.

Should I still do my own data backups?

Absolutely! You can't trust having your important, valuable data in just one place. As the old saying goes, don't put all your eggs in one basket!

What kind of hardware do you use?

Enterprise quality Supermicro servers, powered by Xeon Nehalems or Xeon E5 CPUs, up to 16 CPU cores, with up to 144GBs of RAM per node. When it comes to servers, we only buy the best.

Do you oversell your servers?

We guarantee that the resources of our nodes/hypervisors will never be oversold. We stop putting clients in a server once it reaches 30-50% CPU usage during peak times.
