cPanel, Plesk, or neither?
With a VPS or dedicated server, the choice is yours:
- cPanel/WHM - the most widely used control panel, ideal if you host multiple sites or manage servers for clients.
- Plesk - a strong alternative with solid Linux and Windows support.
- No control panel - if you’re comfortable on the command line, skip the licensing cost entirely and configure the server exactly how you want.
A note on cPanel and Plesk pricing
Both cPanel and Plesk are now owned by the same private equity company, and since that acquisition the industry has seen repeated forced price increases.
