ColossusCloud introduces hourly billing!

Peter Cruz

Serverpoint.com is proud to announce a new way of billing for virtual servers that will satisfy the needs of today's developers and large websites that need resources on demand.

While the majority of our clients prefer to pay monthly, hourly billing has now become standard in the cloud computing industry. And as such, ColossusCloud virtual servers will satisfy your cloud computing needs by allowing you to pay for them by the hour.

Deploy any Linux or Windows virtual server, based on our images or your customized images, and pay just cents every hour you use them.

In this article, we'd like to explain, in the form of frequently asked questions (FAQ), the details of how our hourly billing process works and how the existing customers will be transitioned to this new method of billing.

  • How do we compute the hourly price?

Easy. We take the monthly standard price of a virtual server and divide it by 672, which is the number of hours in 28 days. As an example, a $56 virtual server costs USD $0.083 per hour.

  • Why 28 days?

Because every month has 28 days, but not every month has 29, 30 or 31 days.

  • What happens if I have a virtual server for more than 28 days in a month with more than 28 days?

You will be billed the monthly price, which would be $56 in the example above.

  • So, if I create a virtual server and destroy it four hours later, what would I pay?

You would just pay for four hours of that virtual server.

  • Since ColossusCloud retains a destroyed virtual server for 72 hours so that clients can easily restore it, will I be billed during that time for that destroyed virtual server?

You will not be billed for it, however, if you do restore it, hourly billing will commence again as if the virtual server had never been destroyed.

  • How will I be charged?

As with all of our services, ColossusCloud is a prepaid service. You would add funds to your account via any of our payment methods (PayPal, credit card, etc.) and every hour, our system will deduct the hourly cost of your virtual server(s) from these funds.

  • What will happen when I am out of funds?

Approximately 72 hours before you will run out of funds, our system will calculate the total cost for your virtual servers for the next 672 hours and will charge your credit card for such amount. If we don't have a credit card on record for your account, then you will receive an invoice.

  • What if I don't pay within that 72 hour period?

Your account may be suspended.

  • How will my monthly billing be transitioned to hourly billing?

Once your existing virtual servers become due from their previous monthly payment, they will immediately be switched to hourly billing.

  • When will this change take effect?

We will begin rolling out this new billing method over the next two weeks.

We hope you enjoy this new way of paying for your virtual servers. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our expert sales and support team, 24 hours a day. As usual, we will respond within minutes.
