With the introduction of our new line of Xeon Scalable and Xeon E3v6 dedicated servers, we are also declaring war on old gigabit networking technology.
It is time to accelerate the web hosting industry's transition to the next level of networking evolution, based on fiber ethernet as well as networking redundancy technologies, such as 802.1aq (also known as MC-LAG).
It is thus why ServerPoint has decided to no longer build networks based on gigabit networking, but will be building all new networks on 10g networking.
New Xeon Scalable and Xeon E3v6 dedicated servers will have dual 10g fiber connections to our network.
For server to server traffic, you will have full 10g capacity between your servers. For public/Internet access, it will be rate limited to 1g, for the purpose of preventing abuse (10g connectivity to the Internet would be dangerous if someone uses several of our servers to launch distributed attacks).
Please visit our dedicated server page to learn more about our new servers, as well as our new 10g network technology.
